It is such a privilege to be a part of a large RIS high school community consisting of many talented and open minded teachers, staff and most importantly students. Regardless of the strong academic program offered, one aspect I really enjoy are the diverse range of extracurriculars which I believe is fundamental to create this supportive community. RIS is a special place for anyone, as no one is ever overlooked for who they are.

It has been about half a year since I moved to Seelos Residence. Because I was new to this school, I was scared that I would get depressed and lonely since I was separated from my family. However, the staff and students at Seelos were very friendly and welcoming, so I could easily adjust to the new environment and settle in without any problems. 

I am so grateful that they helped me and gave me advice, although I was very shy and quiet at first. I thank them for making me open up and giving me chances to communicate and befriend many people from various nationalities. Living in Seelos helped me gain so many priceless experiences, such as valuable relationships that I built with the people here.

By living in Seelos, I learned that the dorm was different from what I thought it would be like. I was scared and nervous at first, because I thought it wouldn’t be such a friendly environment, and it wouldn’t feel like a true home. Now that I’ve been living here for a almost a year, I realize that my worries were unnecessary. I’ve had a really positive experience, and I would recommend the dorm to anyone.

After everything I’ve experienced here, I can truly say that I am thankful for the dorm staff and the community with all my heart, and I am so grateful to be part of the Seelos family.

It is a community of not just educators, but what we consider our ‘second parents.’ RIS is an extraordinary place, for both students and teachers. I feel that Ruamrudee is a very powerful place to begin or continue our learning, and for every student, every administrator, and every teacher, RIS is a very lovable community.”

“I really like middle school as we get to be more independent and have more choices about our classes. I enjoyed band and PE this year and am looking forward to cooking and 21st century technology next year. Another thing I like about RIS is that it has a lot of cool clubs. I joined MUN and have learned about public speaking and debating, and I even got to go to an MUN conference in Singapore with some of my friends. I also belong to the middle school council and like helping to organize events at school. Being part of clubs gives you different experiences and allows you to meet new people and try new things.”

“Being at RIS since PreK, I can truly say that this school has had a huge influence in shaping me into the person I am today. Since elementary school, teachers here have encouraged us to be the best version of ourselves by working hard and putting effort into whatever we do. They lay the foundation for us to excel in high school, where educational opportunities like IB and AP programs challenge us to prepare for college. Aside from academics, the extracurriculars here have also taught me to develop better social and leadership skills. These lessons, whether inside or outside the classroom, will surely stick with me for the rest of my life.”
